[b]Los Afortunados

We have opened our doors in the iconic round building previously La Crucecita Surf Shop, it's located
on Manuel Navarette #14. Just next to Don Jose's Liquor Store next to the cultural center.

We feature freshly prepared fish and grilled meats with a number of vegetarian entrees. Our goal is to provide fine dining at reasonable prices and our bar prices reflect the same philosophy. We build handmade Margaritas at 40 pesos and have selected wines from California, Spain and Chile, our house wine is 30 pesos and will compliment any meal.

An example of specials we've offered the last few nights are:

Vegetarian Lasagna with spinach and Bechamel Sauce'
Homemade Roasted Chicken Ravioli with Pesto Sauce

Our Angus Aracherra Steak is 350 grms served with Chimichurri and two side dish choices at 130 pesos

Please say hello when you come in, Doug or myself would like to welcome you and personally thank you for your visit.

We Just returned from a fantastic week in Sayulita and were lucky enough to be at the opening of this great new soon to be sayulita favorite! You can enjoy a romantic dinner in the courtyard or take in the superbowl on the huge big screen in the bar area with plenty of great seating and incredible margaritas! .
There was a huge crowd for the superbowl the food was great and the staff didn't miss a beat!
Be sure and give it a try when you are in sayulita.
Best of luck Doug and Greg

I was at Los Afortunados for Super bowl day and it was packed, great service and ambiance, the arrechera sandwich was very good, handmade margaritas from scratch best in town. Very clean and professional. A new and differant choice in Sayulita.

I just tried the new restaurant "Los Afortunados" for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised, first off it was a really attractive place with indoor and outdoor courtyard dining and the service was very good, a rarity in Sayulita. The kitchen was immaculate and in talking to one of the owners he explained that aside from the freshness and quality of the food he insists on the highest hygene standards and is making a sincere attempt to serve as many organic vegetable products as possible. I had the Dorado in sort of a garlic butter sauce and it was fresh and delicious. My friend had the shrimp cocktail which was really excellent and a very good salad thing. They explained that they will be expanding the menu in the next few weeks. I look forward to going back.

A very good new restaurant in a great location, one block from the beach. For the quality of food and level of service it is unsurpassed in Sayulita.

My wife and I happened to be present at the opening of Los Afortunados (The Lucky Boys) on 2/3/08. The round structure was formally a rundown surf shop. The ambiance now is tropical, lush and inviting. We sat at the beautiful hard wood bar looking over the impressive wine list, yet we decided to see how their $4.00 margaritas fared. Served by a friendly Argentine waitress we discovered our margs were uniquely topped with fresh orange juice taking away the bitter lime influence. Delicious! Uno mas por favor. We were seated for dinner on the outdoor patio at a beautiful old wooden table with brightly covered chairs.
An appetizer of chorizo skewers with home made spicy chipoltle sauce started us off to the delight our taste buds. Uno mas margarita por favor. The basil, tomato, and goat cheese salad with vinegrette dressing set the perfect stage for our entres of arranchera steak and chicken stuffed ravioli in a light cream sauce. The steak was prepared perfectly tender, and the ravioli pasta was made that day to insure freshness. We choose to split the home made vanilla ice cream with pecans to top it all off, also very tasty! We enjoyed the soft music playing in the background, the lovely candlelit tables and the overall tropical feel of the place. The service was friendly and attentive. We will visit Los Afortunados again next time we are in beautiful Sayulita!

Really good with a great ambiance, try the shrimp cocktail (really excellent) the pork adobo was perfect, good wine choices by guys that actually know something about wine.

Los Afortunados has in my opinion the most appealing atmosphere and ambiance of any restaurant in Sayulita, it is a spacious tropical gardern enclosed by high walls eliminating alot of the dust and noise from the street, lots of soft light and candlelight, very comfortable. The food is excellant with very good salads and a choice of three side dishes with each entree. I have had the dorado, the arrechera and shrimp pasta all very good. The margaritas are hand made hand shaken and the wine list is the best I have seen in Sayulita. It was our favorite spot in Sayulita.

Los Afortunados is a really great place to eat. On Saturday six of us went for dinner and everyone couldn't stop talking about how great the food was, the ambiance, the wait staff, etc, etc, etc. Its really nice to have a new restaurant open up where the food is great and the prices very reasonable[u]....

I really hope this restaurant makes it as its nice to have this new addition to Sayulita's restaurant scene! They also donated to Grupo Pro Sayulita's fund raising event....I know because we bid on Los Afortunados desert and champagne donation which we'll be using soon...can't wait. So they not only have a great restaurant, they're also into helping the community.

Los Afortunados is located on Ave. del Palmar, between Delfines and Las Gaviotas. The road runs parallel to the beach, one block up from the beach and one block down from the plaza, on the south side of town. The restaurant is in the very large round building that is well-known in Sayulita.

After hearing so much about this new restaurant we decided to try it. The ambience is quite nice. It took our meal literally, more than one hour to arrive. We ordered the arrachera. When they brought it, it was obviously the last they had. The waitress explained that since it was a much smaller portion than what is normally served, we would be charged less. After one bite my husband asked to have it be packaged to go. It's still sitting in the fridge... When the check arrived they had charged us $130, the full price. We said nothing and paid. Don't think we were afortunados! Maybe it was an off night. We will not be returning.....

Dear Guest and all other Guests:

I first want to apologize for our poor performance on the last visit you made with us. If you are still in town please come by and I would be happy to prepare another meal for you, or to refund your money from the last unfortunate trip to Los Afortunados.

Not as an excuse but to inform only, we are new at this, the seasons changing and the wide variances in traffic flow have been a challenge that we evidently have not been able to overcome. We hope to be open this whole summer and have been streamlining our menu to match the gusts needs as best we can.

I know I can't undo what's already been done but I'd sure like to make up for what we failed to do the first time.

We appreciate your business and look forward to earning back your trust.

Very admirable!
I give you a lot of credit for your posting. It's obvious that you aim to please and made no excuses for a bad night. With ALL the positive input from so many others 'one bad night' should not soil your reputation.
Kudos to you!!!!

Los Afortunados seems to have taken a big step up on their menu this season, the parriada both seafood and meat has really gotten top notch and the salads are very good, probably the most relaxed, tranquil restaurant location in Sayulita with a real emphasis on freshness, just a cool place with a loyal following.

We went to Los Afortunados in mid November with some friends on the recommendation of SometimesDavid/SometimesMiguel and it was fantastic. We have been to Sayulita numerous times but had never heard of Los Afortunados but now will be returning every visit. The owner came by the table a couple of times to check on us and was very personable. Definately a place I would highly recommend.
