A lot of the restaurant reviews are outdated and/ or it seems like a lot of places are no longer in business.

what would be your top ten list of best places to eat in town currently.

all price points are welcome. I want local favorites. i have been there three times and am familiar with most regular places.

I am interested in everything from taco stands to nicer places.

Agreed. The restaurant column would be much improved were it chronological instead of alphabetical. That said, I'm amazed the locals aren't chiming in answering your questions. My pick is Tacos El Ivan, across from the borracho tree on the main drag. Only open at night.

it is true that when people comment on restaurants in the "restaurant" section, that topic should come first. you can view any new posts by clicking the "view new content" button above, but I still think the restaurant section should be done differently.

I love tacos ivan ( a nightly stop when I am there).

I would appreciate any current recommendations on old and new restaurants that the locals love. thanks again, blake

Hi Blake. To clarify, when you say "locals" do you mean local Mexicans or ex-pats who live here for, say, more than half the year? I ask only because there aren't a whole lot of local Mexicans who write on the forum.

Thanks for the idea. When we created this part of the forum 5+ years ago, it was much more organized. I have switched it back to chronological order. Hopefully it will receive more use now.

asst mod- I think you will see it will now. I think people generally want to read new stuff. It was rather difficult to sort through the other way. Thanks a ton for doing that.

always david, I guess I mean expats who are local. I just want information from people who live there all the time. I am not a fan of places that are just going to cater to gringos (like myself). I might hit a couple of those places, but would rather go to places that you guys frequent. I am looking for the inside scoop

I've never had a bad meal in Sayulita. It's just the price and the type of menu that make the difference on where you eat.

The night street vender's are a favorite.

For tacos, go to Tacorriendo, that is a LOCAL favorite!! When in sayulita go and ask the locals if that is what u want!! We eat ceviche, lots of sea food, tacos , the birria guy next to the health center, mmmmm there is not many places owned by local people, but the few that there is, you will see the locals..!

Yesi is right. And I completely forgot to mention the loncherias on the north end of Av. Revolucion, plus the roast chicken vendor there, beside the big green wagon wheel. Add spuds and onions to the order -- mmmmmmm

tacorriendo is the one with white tables and colorful writing on the wall right? I am pretty sure I have been there and it was excellent.

You nailed it, Blake. Now other places are around it, both sides of the street, which brings more people to that little stretch of the road. Hopefully win/win for all, though Tacorriendo seems to be a bit slow in this race. Hope they catch back up to lead the pack. They deserve it.

I can't decide on a top ten but will say that Mexotix is clearly my #1 favorite. The chef is extremely gifted and innovative. Truly world class! Couldn't rec. it more.

what is the story with Itacate? I cannot seem to find any information on it. I am getting very excited. we will be in your amazing town wednesday!!!
