I know some of the restaurants in Sayulita close down before the rainy season, some even earlier like Rollies. We are going to be there that second half of May.

Does anyone know if Iguana Azul is still open? Still managed by "Rick"?

We've been to Sayulita on a couple of short afternoon trips in the past... just stumbling around looking for a great place (doesn't have to be fancy)... to eat, and didn't really see much.

How about a few of your favorites for breakfast, tacos, smoothies and dinner? Oh... Happy hour too! :D

Thanks,
Steve
I don't want to work... I just want to bang on my drum all day.........

Most recent count I'm told was 120 eateries so you'll have no problem finding good food here!!! May is a great time to be here so almost EVERYONE will be open.

The Farmer's Market on Fridays from 10:00-2:00 pm is a great place to eat and purchase foods for your stay. Everything from Gourmet Soups to excellent organic veggie & meats to salad dressing and skin care products for after a day in the sun.
Don't miss the Chocolates either. They are amazing.

EATERIES:
[b]Burrito Revolution
Leysa
Don Pedro's
Tropical House
El Bicho at night for awesome Taco's
Taco Stands (shrimp are my fav) across from the big tree (the Boracho Tree) close to the bridge construction
Monchis
Ofe
Don Chow
Choco-Banana
Rollies
Rubens
Calypso
Ivan's Taco's
Mexotic

That should get you started.
We have an amazing variety and selection in Sayulita so I'm sure you'll enjoy eating your way thru this beautiful village!
Have a wonderful vacation. :D

steve,
I was there last may (at the end) and rollies was closed along with some others. There were still plenty of places to eat (breakfast at azul iguana) so it should not be a problem. Just do not count on Rollies.

Warning on that Friday market everyone.

Don't mix the Carrot/Ginger soup (excellent by the way) with the Red Pepper Hummus from the lady down the sidewalk!

I have a cast iron gut, but that spelled trouble.

Blake,

I've actually been e-mailing with Rollie. They are going to be closed in May. Seems like a real nice guy... wish they were there on this trip.
How were the bugs at the end of May? A friend of mine who goes to Mazatlan during that time said they were bad up there.

I was in San Blas/Santa Cruz in Nov/Dec 1974 and they were REALLY bad! :o

Thanks,
Steve

Amo,
HAHA... well, I doubt that I would ever go with that combo... but thanks for the warning!

Steve,
there were definitely more bugs at that time. Normally we go in march and it is perfect. We went at the end or may/ beginning of june for my birthday. I can say it was significantly hotter with more bugs. That being said, it is a amazing place not matter what.
