We had a great night at Mirador Libitu -- highly recommend it.

A few nights earlier we'd had dinner at Terrazola on the beach near the trailer park (which was also excellent), and were told about about this new sister-restaurant on the highway toward Punta Mita. Alex, our driver and amazing server, met us at Terrazola on Sunday, as arranged, and drove us up (no charge). Even sitting in the back of the truck (the canopy truck, with seating for around 10(?) people) was a bit of a treat, after spending all of our time in Sayulita on foot.

The setting is great. Big view of the mountains and sunset off Punta Mita in the distance, space to walk around and see the new restaurant garden, sipping a margarita right next to the lime tree that garnished it. The new space is nicely set up, but still has a local and relaxed vibe.

We were the only ones there, and Aurto (sp?), the chef, took special care to make gorgeous plates of food just to our liking. He must have an excellent connection, because the shrimp were the biggest and freshest we've seen in Sayulita. Steak was prepared over mesquite out back and was fantastic.

After dinner we were treated to a camp fire with coffee and watched the stars come out -- away from city lights, even these were abundant.

If you want to go, ask at Terrazola and they'll set it up. Highly recommended for a big party, or a family with kids who want to run around a bit while you enjoy a great meal (even the dogs were friendly). The prices were perhaps higher than town, but still substantially lower than home, and well worth every peso.
