My husband and I are coming to Sayulita for a week in October and will be on a fairly tight budget. Any suggestions for some good, yummy, creative, cheap restaurants?

Sorry. I meant to ask for something in a list to make it easy to print to bring with us. Thanks.

I love Leysa and their Tostada's Picadillo. I order two plus a water and my bill is less than 3 dollars. I also LOVE the shrimp tacos from the 2 little stands across from the Boracho tree.
Don Pedro's serves the best Chiliquillis for breakfast @ 50 pesos and the environment (oceanfront) and service are excellent. Choco-Banana is always good and reasonable. You must also try Burrito Revolution! HUGE burritos with everything from Arracherra to Marlin and excellent sauces to put on them.

I'd add Carmelitas for the best fish tacos in town. I order just one (alacarte), the guys get 2 and it's plenty. No need for rice, beans, etc. I pick the battered and deep fried fresh fish, yum. And the home-made lemonade is just right. Carmelitas is located on the plaza, just to the left of Cafe Leyza --

Taco's Ivan for tacos al pastor.

If you like pizza, Pizza Ron has shrimp pizza, Mexican pizza with chorizo, Hawaiian pizza with pineapple. Inexpensive and delicious!

Most of the places are very affordable compare to the states, Canada or Europe. The average price per breakfast is 10 dollas per person (except in Don Pedros) , for lunch too and for dinner 14 dollars. The tacos are 1 dollar per taco.

I recommend getting an entire chicken (pollo entero) from Yolanda's stand. She's located on a little side lane running off Jose Mariscol, which is one side of the plaza. For $85pesos you get a whole, delicious, grilled chicken, rice, cole slaw, a stack of tortillas and extra dipping sauce. Definitely enough for two full meals for two hungry people. She sells out by about 2-3pm so get it early, take it home and have it hot or cold later.

I second that!
Yolanda's is the best chicken I've had in Sayulita and her side dishes are pretty darn good as well.

Tropical House is also reasonable for a " sit down dinner". The average cost is around $10, but, there are items that can be put together ala carte to maintain your budget. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is delightful with warm, friendly owners and staff. Don´t count it out if before you check it out!!!
