Why do visitors to this nice town of Sayulita continue to go here. After you read this and most of the replies that will follow in agreement-We hope you will walk down the street just a one block to find a better Burrito and for sure better service.
Ok, we have sat at the counter of Burrito Revolution and have waited over 40 minutes for a burrito. During these visits they are always out of something, marlin, shrimp, carne asada, something. Nothing worse then waiting in line and not getting what you paid for.
Then when you ask for something not to be placed on your burrito because your alergic, like say tomatoes, they do not want to prepare it. Its like the World has ended, and trust me your burrito will have tomatoes. Crazy-what happend to "customer service"? I know its Mexico-but they speak english there, and they write it on the ticket, but yet cannot follow directions.
We feel like when you pay 70 pesos for a burrito you should be able to order it the way you like it!
Then the marlin, carne asada, mahi mahi is always over cooked. They slaughter these fines meats and fish with HEAT!
They really need to get a cook who can prepare more than one ticket at a time. A cook that understands that "no" tomatoes means no tomatoes-or what ever you may be alergic to. or just do not want on "YOUR 70 peso" burrito.
This is to all visitors, walk down the street, same side of the street, next to La Fiesta" and get your next burrito. You wont regret it.
PS-then you have the owner always checking out your girlfriends or wifes-come on!

Burrito Revolution Bad Service-Just "OK" burritos
Posted 09 June 2010 - 04:02 PM (#2)
That place was good when it first opened, and the burritos are still OK, but I would rather eat somewhere without the attitude. The burritos down the street are better, and the service is definitely better. The best burritos by far, IMO, are at Tacos de Marlin across from the airport.

I was in Sayulita 3 years ago. Not a day goes by that I don't think about those burritos. Let it be known, I'm a gringo. I have a 2 year olds understanding of the Spanish language. But, what I was able to figure out from eyeballing the menu, and speaking with the chef/owner while ordering, Burrito Revolution has 2 rules - you order off the board. What the board says goes. If you order something that, based on the menu, has tomatos in it, thats the way its going to happen. and 2- yeah, it's going to take a while. I loved being able to order lunch, walk through tow, grab a beer, drink it. Then grab another and walk back and, wow! There is my delicious HUGE (a burrito of that stature on the east coast would cost you $12, easy) burrito waiting to go.
And when you obey those rules, order and pay witha smile, the owner hits you up with his private stash of hot sause that is absolutly killer.
It sucks that you had a bad experience there. But my guess is that it really didn't have to do with them.

I was there three years ago, too, and ate there whenever I could--so delicious!! I liked the ease of walking up and ordering, and getting the huge burrito in not too much time (maybe things have changed since?).
But I've heard they're not open right now (?), and who knows when they'll reopen. Is that true?

Burrito Revolution has great food, and a "no substitutions" rule... stop being high maintenance and order off the menu. (you make this place sound like you are ordering soup from the Soup Nazi of Jerry Seinfeld fame, lol) If the dish is not to your liking the way it is prepared, DON"T order it. I'm always amazed that people think that places should cater to all of their food preferences. The food at Burrito Revolution is great, and good food takes time to prepare. Relax people, you are in Mexico, going with the flow will do wonders to your attitude and your world view. Adopting a go with the flow attitude will even help you to enjoy your vacation more.
When I'm in Sayulita, I'm on vacation. So what if my food takes 40 minutes... for me, it has always been worth the wait... Burrito Revolution is in a great place to relax and watch the world go by. I highly recommend it to everyone. (unless you want it your way...)
