After the second time (two for two) I was ignored by the girls working at the walk up window of El Expresso I vowed never to return and have not since. Terrible service. They like talking and playing with their cell phones rather than attending to customers. Plus, they don't like to say thank you. I'd rather drink Nescafe anywhere else.
I like the chile en nogada at La Fiesta when the have it. I agree on Antonia. The tamales on the beach are usually good, too; both Chata's and the woman from Bucerias. And always, Lety's tortas.

I prefer "Ofe" which is right across from Costa Verde school and next to 'Taco's on the street'. It has a small red awning and it's hard to see the actual name but you'll find it given the description.
For 45 pesos you get a delicious meal, a drink and great service. It's not fancy but it is some of the best authentic Mexican food in town.

I wonder if u have eaten at El Espresso. The chilaquiles are amazing good! they really have upset you for you to write a comment like this. One thing that you cannot deny it is that they have the best coffee in sayulita, probably the best of the bay area. Of course that it is not an excuse for a bad service! Being a mexican i know that in many places they can be snappy and rude with me. Different story here. Anyways, i have not tried La Fiesta again since a chile relleno fiasco many years ago when they opened. The tamales from the lady in the 4 wheeler i dont like them. But if u ever have a chance try the ones from Eddy across the street from the Ejido office (the old ejido) on the mornings. Tamales de elote. Sweet. Good. Have you tried carmelitas yet??

I have eaten once at Carmelitas. I really liked it and the service was really good too. They are the right food at the right price, unlike their next door neighbors. I used to like Leyza in the past and then they went 'tourist'. I think that is what killed Si Hay Olitas... they changed their menu from familiar to tourist.
Nope, never eaten at El Espresso since the bad coffee service put me off.
