A New Tropical House Same Excellence with a New Location

Chef Michel returns to re-open the Tropical House at the former Il Bicyclette location. Opening is scheduled for mid-September to prepare for the return of all of our friends and high-season visitors. The new location provides the ability to serve more guests who enjoy al fresco dining. There will be a full bar and new additions to the menu that round out what Sayulita visitors and locals have requested. The location also provides the ability to serve large parties of 50 people looking for a welcome!

Tropical House will be offering:
Michel's excellent European style menu of mouth watering dinner's
hand crafted beers
BBQ from Dennis
Private lounge for private parties or a place for locals to hang
Art Gallery, featuring local artists.
The ability to serve larger parties of guests.
[/size]

Hand Crafted Beers on TAP, great food, great location, ability to serve more guests...THIS HOUSE IS ROCKING

Just ate at Tropical House the other night. I must say that the service and hospitality were fantastic. The staff and owner are so genuine and go out of their we to ensure your comfort and happiness. The food was pretty good not great. Their bread for dipping is, I think, just plane white sandwich bread (go figure, it's Mexico). Their coconut shrimp had a very good flavor with a flavorful dipping sauce but the batter on the shrimp was a bit tough, not light and crisp. Wonderful tasting salad but again the croutons were made of ordinary sandwich bread and the lettuce was tough, dark green and warm.
I had a very good Malbec but they are not yet serving their hand crafted beers. I do hope the beer thing turns out to be a success for them. It's something that isn't offered elsewhere and should prove to be a great hit among the NW people of the US.
Hope they are there next year. I'll go back and hope they have tightened things up.

I highly recommend the Tropical house!
Was recommend to go here from a local gringo. She said no one ever gets sick here. The food is excellent, they are friendly with a nice casual atmosphere.
Also they offer free high speed internet with coffee or a meal. The internet is faster here then at home - go figure. So check out the Tropical house just 1 block from the beach.
p.s. they all speak English.

I and my party had a very different experience. I ordered what was described on the menu as a "simple" piece of fish. It arrived with about 3 different sauces and so much salt I nearly gagged. My wife ordered a shrimp dish which was supposed to be served with a side of vegetables. The vegetable was only tomatoes. When she asked for some green vegetables--she is on a restricted diet and can't eat tomato--she was brough more tomatoes! Ironically, we were brought there by friends of the owner. They were also dissatisfied with their entrees but decided not to say anything. Maybe the restaurant was having a bad night, but after the buildup we expected much more.

Hi Concerned Joe,

We at the Tropical House take all comments seriously because our goal is to provide great service and delicious dinners. It would have been approrpiate to send the dishes back and tell the owners of your problem.

You said you and your party did not want to make a fuss; and, did not speak to us at the restaurant. Yet, you post a harsh review in public. That does not allow us to improve and correct. In the future, I hope that you will talk to us directly so that we can make your dining experience a great one!

I go to Tropical House every week for breakfast- The service is great (meet the friendly owners) the pancakes and smoothies are the best in town.
If you want a guaranteed satisfying breakfast order the Asian Spa smoothie and the Pancakes & Amigos with coconut. The free wireless is also a bonus.
Cheers

My experience:
Service - very good.
Food - so so . Not something you need to go out and pay for, especially with all the other options.
Drinks - good
Atmosphere - considering no views or beachfront - cute.

Bread could have been better.

Now Tropical House is open at 4 pm for the Hora Feliz (Happy Hour). Really nice! I recommend it. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere.

We had dinner there last night and it was superb. Dining options during the summer months are definitely not as plentiful and it is so nice to have such high quality food and service this time of year.

Great job to all the staff and owners of Tropical House.

Keep up the great work!

Go in and try the new "Signature" Tropical House drink we created. It's called a Ginga-lada and it's delish! Made with fresh ginger, rum and, well..........the rest is a secret but I guarantee it is yummy.

Tropical House is great for an early lunch after yoga class and before going to the beach. They always accommodate my desire for a delicious salad with grilled fish, which isn't quite what's on the menu. They make great espresso too!

They are also wonderful people who know the area and give excellent advice about Sayulita. It's also a great community gathering spot at happy hour. I feel at home at Tropical House.
