Just curious as to whether or not vandalism is an issue in Sayulita when it comes to vehicles. I will be returning to Sayulita soon and I'm thinking about driving this time. I have, what I would consider, a "nice" car and I'm wondering if I should be worried about it getting vandalized. I know this is an issue just about anywhere you go but it seems there aren't very many cars/trucks in Sayulita with US plates and I just worry about drawing attention to myself. Perhaps I am worrying for no reason, however. I don't really have any evidence that vandalism is an issue in Sayulita...
Thanks for any info.

There are tons of U.S. plated cars here, one being mine and the worst that's happened is having someone draw silly pictures on the dusty windows. Trust me, there are lots of very expensive SUV's etc and I've yet to hear of anyone having any problems. In fact, many many Mexican drive very nice trucks, cars and SUV's so unless you drive a Hummer you won't have to worry about standing out.

Thanks Boobala, I appreciate the info. I know Sayulita is very safe, I think I'm mostly concerned about driving around in other areas, going back-and-forth between PV and Sayulita, going to Mega, local towns, etc.
Do you think I should be concerned about driving around in those areas, with a nice car and with US plates?
You know how people can be -- I hear all kinds of stories (mostly rumors I'm sure) about how "corrupt" things are in Mexico and how the police can pull you over and demand money, etc.
I've never experienced anything like that before, but at the same time I usually don't have a car when I'm visiting.
